A middle-aged man was on Wednesday arrested for allegedly defiling and impregnating a sixteen-year-old girl in Muumoni, Kitui County.
The Itoloni Girls secondary school’s BOG chairman is said to have coerced the Form One minor into having sex with him.
Confirming the incident, area assistant chief Margaret Munyambu said the girl is six months pregnant.
“At around 10 am after a tip-off, I nabbed a man; a school chairman who had defiled a Form One girl who is now six months pregnant,” Munyambu said.
Munyambu addressed the press in Kitui on Wednesday.
She said the suspect has been locked up at Muumoni police station awaiting to be arraigned in court tomorrow.
“I handed the suspect over to police at Muumoni, he will appear and be charged in Kyuso Law Courts tomorrow,” Munyambu said.
Munyambu, however, warned that she won’t tolerate defilers in her Sub-location. She vowed to root the culprits out.
“I won’t condone anyone playing with our kids, such characters will not be allowed to exist amidst us,” she added.
Consequently, police from the same station are hunting for a middle-aged man who allegedly raped a 25-year-old disabled woman.
The suspect is said to have committed the heinous act at Nguuku village where he worked as a houseboy and eloped after committing the crime.
