Kenya Air Force deployed to hold down the fort at JKIA

Following the strike by the Kenya Aviation Authority Workers the government has deployed Kenya Air Force to see that normal operations ensue.

Kenya Air Force personnel have been deployed at the Jommo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to help with the screening of passengers.

The Transport CS James Macharia assured passengers that operations at JKIA would resume in an hour.

“KAA in collaboration with KQ and with the support of the Kenya Air Force managed to get a replacement of the screeners. As we speak we have the capacity to screen passengers departing and I can assure you that within the hour we shall have the first aeroplane flying out,” he said.

This is as hundreds of passengers at major airports in the country- in Eldoret, Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa- were on Wednesday affected before the Air Force personnel intervened.
