How Ksh 2000 leaves a man fighting for his life in Hospital

A middle-aged man is fighting for his life at Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital after he consumed poison. It is alleged that the man Vincent Osore who works at a local school as a laboratory technician took his lover home and went to a chang’aa den to consume chang’aa.

“Osore arrived home in the company of his longtime lover identified as Ann Nyanchoka. He left her in the house and went to a chang’aa den to drink only to return back to find the woman and his Sh2,000 missing,” said a local Isaiah Mbaye. Mbaye said angered Osore picked a bottle full of poison and consumed.

“He drunk poison which was in his house before he revealed to his mother that he had consumed poison waiting to die. An alarm was raised prompting neighbours to rush him to hospital where he is being treated,” he stated. A local chief Julius Nyandika said the man’s lover whereabouts remains a mystery. “Nyanchoka seemed to be unhappy with Osore’s drinking habits. She stole the money and escaped,” said the chief.
