President Kenyatta Grabs Ruto by the Head Over His Latest Stand on Corruption

President Uhuru Kenyatta has once again hit out at those questioning his latest resolve to deal with corruption.

In a swipe apparently aimed at Deputy President William Ruto, President Kenyatta has called on Kenyans and leaders to give investigative agencies ample time to carry out their duties diligently.

Speaking at the opening of the 6th annual Devolution Conference in Kirinyaga County, President Kenyatta was quick to stress that the war on Corruption is not directed to specific individuals or communities.

The head of state hit out at leaders jeorpadizing his government’s fight on corruption.

He called on Leaders to stop politicizing the War on Corruption through platforms such as funerals and other social public gatherings.

Noting that his government was simply dealing with a crime that had limited growth, he told them, “Who do you have to fear? If you are arrested you will have a chance to defend yourself. If people do not stop attacking you, get your lawyer and go to court.”

He said, “This is not a war against an individual or community but a war against a crime that robs us of the opportunity to build a nation.”

The President’s latest remarks come in a period that has seen his deputy come under intense pressure following his recent take that investigative agencies do not conduct proper investigations into Corruption cases.
