Mombasa County strengthens efforts to promote trade among the youth

Mombasa County government has endeavored to provide facilities to encourage trade among the young people.

With the youth in mind, the county government has implemented this  through installation of modern kiosks which have opened self employment opportunities for the youth, women and PWDs.

The county through the CEC in Charge of Trade, Tourism and Investment Mr Rashid has announced that they are ongoing projects to renovate the markets places in the efforts to fuel trade and transform the city to an economic hub.

This morning in the company of Trade CO Abdulwahab Mbarak and Kongowea Ward Administrator Washe Chisenga they supervised the ongoing unclogging of the drainage system at Kongowea market.

Mr Rashid stated that traders and customers have lauded the county’s efforts on the general improvement of the Kongowea market.

The CEC says that this  move to renovate and make changes is also in readiness for the long-awaited rainy season.

‘We are putting in place proper measures to mitigate effects of the rains.” He added

The county officials then toured both the wholesale and retail trading sections and interacted with traders and also checked on the general infrastructure of the market.
