Romelu Lukaku, has dismissed media reports suggesting he was involved in a dressing room bust-up with Paul Pogba moments after Manchester United 3-2 dramatic victory over Southampton at Old Trafford.

Lukaku scored twice during the Saturday, March 2, encounter to help United cart away all the three points. The Belgian star had a golden chance to bag a hat-trick after the Red Devils were awarded a penalty in injury time.

However, Pogba, who is United’s designated penalty taker stepped up for the spot-kick which was eventually saved by Angus Gunn. The decision not to let Lukaku take the penalty is said to have angered the forward who confronted Pogba after the match in the dressing room.

SunSport claimed that the former Everton forward had an exchange with Pogba, and took the intervention of club boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, to broker a truce. But Lukaku has taken to Twitter to hit out at the reports saying: “When the hate don’t work they start telling lies…”

The duo is said to be good friends both on and off the pitch, with Pogba said to have played a pivotal part in influencing Lukaku’s move to Old Trafford from Everton.
