Kirinyaga County had 150,000 condoms distributed to all bars and restaurants as well as other areas where the 6,000 delegates will be seeking accommodation.
While it is perfectly okay for the county government to advocate for “safe sex”, many have wondered whether what will be taking place for the next four days will be the Devolution Conference of the Demolition Conference.
In a hilarious post made by singer Suzanna Owiyo, she noted that the over 100,000 condoms meant that each of the 6,000 delegates has to use at least 12 condoms per day.
“50,000 Condoms for over 3000 Men Delegates translates to about 50 Condoms per Man for the Four Days meaning One Man is expected to use at least 12 Condoms per Day.
Looks like it’s gonna be a DEMOLITION Conference at KIRINYEGE County,” the post read.
The county deputy public health officer Peter Irungu on Sunday asked “guests” not to shy away because “distribution of condoms has been going on even when there is no devolution conference.”
He also cautioned bar owners against selling the condoms, emphasizing that the county had already paid for them.
