Tottenham warned as Sarri drops hint over his Chelsea future

Chelsea picked up maximum points at Fulham on Sunday in the Premier League.

Jorginho was Chelsea’s surprise match-winner with just his second goal of the season.

Gonzalo Higuain opened for the Blues in the first half, while Calum Chambers found the target for Scott Parker’s Fulham.

The win lifted Chelsea onto 56 points, however the Blues remain sixth in the standings.

Arsenal have 57 points, Man United have 58 while Tottenham are on 61 points. However Chelsea have a game in hand over all those teams.

After the Fulham game, Maurizio Sarri expressed his belief that Tottenham can be ousted out of the top four:

We were trying to involve Tottenham in the fight.

And I think that now they are involved. So, better two teams for four places than three for one place.

Chelsea beat Spurs 2-0 at Stamford Bridge in the league last midweek.

For the past few weeks, analysts and pundits have been debating Maurizio Sarri’s future at Chelsea.

Yet, while many have been advocating their belief that Sarri could soon be fired from Stamford Bridge, the Italian revealed after Fulham that he’s already planning for next season.

Sarri told Sky Sport Italia the following about his Chelsea plans:

I feel the same as before, but happier because the results are positive.

When everyone talked about my dismissal, I was talking with the club to plan the team for next season, so I was always relaxed.
