[PICTURES] The Beautiful Turkana Island that Ruto’s pilot was taking tourists

News broke early on Monday that Deputy President William Ruto’s chopper had crashed in Turkana killing all the five people on board.

Captain Mario Magonga was ferrying four tourists tot he Central Island National Park in the heart of Lake Victoria when they unfortunately met their death.

The cause of the crash is yet to be revealed. But why would four Americans want to visit one of the most remote places in Kenya?

Turkana is one of the most underdeveloped counties. In fact the people there don’t believe they’re in Kenya.

But it has now emerged that the Central Island National Park is one of the most beautiful and blessed places on earth.

The park boasts of having the largest concentration of Nile Crocodiles in the world.

The island also has three active volcanoes which are characterised by periodic burps of steam and smoke.

It is the only place in the world with three crater lakes; the magical crocodile lake, Tilapia lake and Flamingo Lake.

There is also a substantial number of bats and hippos. The rich pastoral Turkana culture is also a scene to be hold.

This is a magical place that will interest anybody who is in love with nature.

I just wish the government could exploit these riches to benefit the people of Turkana.

Unfortunately, most Kenyans cannot even go there because of poor infrastructure and insecurity.
