Nairobi Governor had just celebrated a new year when he decided to narrate an encounter with the flying squad.
The Nairobi governor disclosed that his wife Primrose had nearly died after Flying Squad officers nearly shot at a car she was driving.
He said his wife had bought a Range Rover (KAQ 535W) from Deputy President William Ruto through a car dealer, Ng’ang’a Mundia at Sh7.5 million.
The car originally belonged to former President Daniel Moi, who had decided to dispose of it, after it was involved in an accident.
The car later was reported missing from the CMC yard, with the police searching for it. What many did not know was that the former president had bought a new car that could be confused with the other one.

The police then opened fire on the car, but as the car was armoured, the occupants did not sustain any injuries. Primrose and her children then surrendered, coming out of the car with their hands up.
They were arrested and taken to Buru Buru police station, where they could sort out the mess. Sonko’s wife was taken to their home to collect the ownership documents proving that they owned the car.
