They say Kenya is a country of big thieves. Almost all the corruption stories we are reading about are in billions of shillings.

In fact anyone visiting Kenya at the moment may think that we have no other figure about from billions.

Now a man who stole sh 80 million has just been released on a sh 500,000 bail. Can you imagine that?

David Njau stole more than 80 million from his employer HighChem East Africa Limited.

He committed the crimes between 2012 and 2016 at Standard Chartered Bank Industrial Area branch.

He was charged on Monday before Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku.

The man denied the crime and was released on sh 500,000 bail.

He now has 70.5 million to spend.
