Over 200 ballast transporters today barricaded roads in Machakos in a protest against levies imposed by the County.
The incident caused snarl-up at the busy road for about three hours.
The new fee that took effect from today was criticized as exorbitantly high and not affordable by the quarry workers.
The levies have been increased by almost 300 per cent for different categories of trucks.
