Mumias East Mp Benjamin Washiali believes that President Uhuru Kenyatta should have lived with the flaws of indicted former Sports CS Rashid Echesa.
The President, through an executive order, fired Echesa and replaced him with Ambassador Amina Mohammed.
Echesa was the only Minister from Kakamega county, a region that despite being an opposition stronghold gave the Jubilee Party a substantial amount of votes.
“Mr Echesa was among people who went out of their way to propagate Jubilee and create in-routes for Mr Kenyatta to access the region”. Washiali told the Daily Nation.
“We are not happy with this decision,” the National Assembly Chief Whip said, adding other ruling party members from the region were equally disheartened by President Kenyatta’s decision.
He said they remained worried “because Mr Kenyatta has shown that he doesn’t value us”.
