A woman has been charged in a Machakos court for failing to protect her seven-year-old daughter from defilement. Eunice Mumbua who is a bar attendant at Tala Market in Machakos county was accused of exposing the minor to her male lovers since 2016.
Testifying in court, the minor told Kangundo Law Court magistrate Martha Opanga that her drunkard mother used to bring her male friends home, they would make love and the men would later turn on her.
“She used to come with different men at night who were fully drunk, they would have sex and the men would later on turn on me for the same. I used to cry but no one would listen to me,” said the distraught girl.
Mumbua pleaded not guilt to the charges and was released on a bond of KSh 50,000 and surety of similar amount.
The magistrate ordered the girl be taken to a rehabilitation centre for guidance and counseling. The case will be mentioned on Wednesday, March 6.
