Why Governors should borrow a leaf from Joho’s plan to mitigate youth unemployment

Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho can serve as a perfect example of leaders who have shown their commitment to the youth by prioritizing their needs.

Youth Unemployment is still one of the biggest challenges that the Government is yet to solve.

A number of leaders have tried to place in their efforts to support young people and creating spaces which serve as opportunities to the young generation.

Governors should indeed borrow a leaf from this move by the Mombasa County Governor and his team.

The County is planning a major construction of a center that will serve as a space where the youth are equipped with skills that will make them competent to take up top positions in the society.

Earlier today, the Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi engaged with locals in Likoni on the proposed site for the establishment and construction of the Maritime Center of Excellence in Likoni Sub-county.

Kingi was accompanied by the CECM Department of Lands, Physical Planning and Housing Hon. Edward Nyale.

In conjuction with the state department of Technical and Vocational Education and Training Mombasa Conuty hopes to design programs which will equip their people with the needed skills to tap into the vast sector of the blue economy.

The completion of this institution will go a long way in complementing Governor Joho’s efforts to create and enhance youth skills development and mitigating unemployment.
