Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has urged striker Gonzalo Higuain to work on his physical condition while he remains confident the January arrival can be a regular goalscorer for his side.
Higuain, 31, joined Chelsea on loan from Juventus in January after a short spell with AC Milan.
However, the Argentine has scored just two goals in seven matches since his arrival with both goals coming against Premier League whip boys Huddersfield.
“I think the contribution was really very good in the last match [against Tottenham].” Sarri said: “He was able to play with team-mates very well.
“Now he needs more acceleration, because now he is a little more resistant, but without the accelerations, he had in Naples.
“So I think he needs to improve in the physical condition, and then he will be able to score.”
Chelsea travel to Craven Cottage on Sunday with three points the only thing on their minds against a struggling Fulham side
