The class seven dropout sat in the same cabinet with PhD holders like Fred Matiang’i and his replacement Amina Mohammed.
Echesa was nominated for the Sports CS role by President Kenyatta on 26th January. His appointment sailed through vetting in Parliament because we have imbecile MPs.
The man from Shivale village in Mumias was born in a poor family of eight children. His father was a charcoal burner and could not educate him beyond class primary school.
But his understanding of ground politics appealed to DP William Ruto who pushed for his appointment to CS role.
Now, with very little experience and education, Echesa started fighting Raila Odinga instead of laying low.
Nobody advised the man from Mumias that some battles are not worth fighting.
And now he will stay in the cold.
