Manchester United representatives have held talks with Benfica over the possibility of signing attacking midfielder Joao Felix.

The 19-year-old has dazzled supporters during his first senior campaign with Benfica, scoring eight goals in 15 league matches from the No.10 position.

Man United have a close connection with the Portuguese champions, signing Victor Lindelof from them in 2017 and often sending scouts to watch their games.

And according to Di Marzio, while Juventus look like front-runners to sign the youngster, United have remained in contact with Benfica over Felix’s availability.

Here is some footage of Felix – he’s the one who squares the pass after producing a gorgeous flick – which contains far too much sauce to ignore.

United’s priority heading into the summer, just like last year, will be to strengthen the central defence and full-back position, with Marcos Rojo, Matteo Darmian and Antonio Valencia all likely to depart.

But the acquisition of another young, darting, crisp attacking midfielder, adept in tight spaces and smart in front of goal, would serve as an important step towards improving build-up play against teams employing a low-block.

It could be claimed that United’s interest in Felix implies a willingness to let Juan Mata leave over the summer.
