Kenya stands in solidarity with Somalia following terror attack in Mogadishu

Kenya has today stood in solidarity with the Federal Government of Somalia following the tragic terror attack in Mogadishu that resulted in loss of life and left scores injured in its wake.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has today expressed its deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of the Somalia following the attack.

In their statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that these acts of terror pose a common threat to the community of Nations and underscore the need to work closely together with strategic partners in the international fight against terrorism and violent extremism to deal decisively and conclusively with this threat to international peace and security.

“As our brotherly neighbour, we express our solidarity and compassion and join the families of the people of Somalia. including our own. in condoling their loved ones who lost their innocent lives following this heinous attack.” reads statement in part

The Government of the Republic of Kenya conveyed condolences to H.E. Hassan Ali Khaire, Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, and assured Of Kenya’s commitment to deepen its cooperation in the fight against terror.
