“Raila Odinga stop mentioning my name. I am not your equal. The president was not stupid to appoint me in the Cabinet. He would have picked a professor but he settled on me, the son of a poor man.” This message by Rashid Echesa to opposition Chief Raila Odinga showed a man who was unshaked and unbowed by the AU High Envoy.
Echesa had claimed that Raila was out to ensure that President Kenyatta sacked him from his Cabinet.
He claimed that Raila was at that time holding meetings with Luhyia leaders all with an aim of portraying him (Echesa) as incompetent and a baggage to President Kenyatta.
Echesa even dared Raila to sack him and said that he will never respect the opposition Chief.
Uhuru’s axe has now fallen on Echesa. It still remains to be seen if he will blame Raila for his latest downfall.
