The Orange Democratic Movement party during the National Governing Council meeting has unanimously voted to expel Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the party.
However it deferred the decision on Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori after writing a letter to the party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna apologising for going against the party & it’s leadership.
The two MPs’ tribulations began after they waded into the 2022 succession politics.
Jumwa is accused of openly showing disrespect to the party leader and insinuating she had decamped from the party and aligned herself with Deputy President William Ruto.
The National Governing Council is composed of the National Executive Council, ODM league, Youth League, county coordinating committee officials and the National Election Board.
The NGC is chaired by Party Leader Raila Odinga or, in his absence, either one of his deputies Wycliffe Oparanya and Hassan Joho or ODM Chairman John Mbadi.
On the other hand President Uhuru Kenyatta’s cabinet reshuffle has seen sports cabinet Secretary Richard Echesa fired from his duties.He was once embroiled in a battle with opposition leader Uhuru where dared him to sack him and the heat indeed caught up with him.
