Emery Delivers His Verdict On Managerial Rival Pochettino

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has hailed Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as “a very good coach”.

Arsenal face Tottenham on Saturday in Big Weekend’s game to watch.

The Gunners would close the gap to third-placed Spurs to a single point with a victory at Wembley, with both teams heading into the game in vastly different runs of form.

Arsenal won their last Premier League meeting 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium, but Tottenham have been on a fine run since.

Emery was full of praise for the job Pochettino has done – although he hopes “that won’t be the case” on Saturday.

“He’s young,” he said. “He has done a great job in all the teams in his career, especially here, in Tottenham.

“I have a lot of respect for him as a person, because he’s a good person, but above all as a professional and a coach.

“He’s young and he’s going to do important things in football.

“I hope tomorrow that won’t be the case. I know him, respect him a lot and he’s a very good coach.”
