Arsenal Tells Unai Emery That Signing Star To Replace Aaron Ramsey Is A ‘No Brainer’

Arsenal news Adrien Rabiot Unai Emery Aaron Ramsey Robert Pires transfer gossip

That’s the view of Arsenal legend Robert Pires, who thinks that signing the midfielder is a ‘no brainer’.

Rabiot will be available on a free transfer at the end of the season, after failing to agree a contract extension with PSG.

The France international reportedly sacked his own mother as his agent recently after a proposed move to Barcelona collapsed.

Arsenal are losing one of their longest-serving players in Aaron Ramsey for no transfer fee when he joins Juventus in June.

And Pires has urged Emery to do his utmost to land Rabiot in a bid to replace the Wales international.

“Arsenal have the advantage of Emery having already worked with him at PSG, which should hopefully sway Rabiot to join Arsenal,” he told BWin.

“He would be worth a big fee on the transfer market so the fact he’s free makes it a no brainer.

“If Emery can secure Rabiot then I think he’ll be able to fill the hole that will be left by Ramsey’s departure.”

Arsenal signed Denis Suarez on loan in January, but the Barcelona midfielder has yet to start a game for the Gunners.

The Spaniard is seemingly requiring time to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League.

Pires thinks Rabiot may have less trouble with the pace of the English league as his natural game is already based on high-intensity running, but he would play him in a defensive midfield role.

“He’s a central midfielder, who is more comfortable playing as a defensive midfielder rather than a creative one,” he said in a previous interview.
