17-year-old James Garner replaced Brazilian Fred in midfield.
This was Garner’s Premier League debut, and the teenager impressed in south London.
So much so that Solskjaer confirmed that Garner could be involved against Southampton this weekend. The Norwegian said:
We’ve been waiting for that chance [to introduce him to the first team]. Of course, now with Nemanja [Matic] and Ander [Herrera] injured, there’ll be more chances for Jimmy.
