Meru Senator in Legal battle with Son Over land

Senator Mithika Linturi has been sued by his own son Arnold Kipkurui over a Ksh7.2 million loan that he acquired using one of his property as security without his consent. The property in question allegedly belongs to his son Kipkurui according to his lawyer Stephen Mogaka.

Kipkurui filed an affidavit at the Milimani Law Courts seeking it to block senator Linturi from accessing the loan. He alleges that Linturi, through Atticon Company, applied for the loan. “I never executed any document whatsoever regarding the lending to Atticon or to charge the company’s property to the bank,” read part of the affidavit.

In the suit, Linturi Named Registrar of lands, Registrar of companies and the attorney General as respondents in the case which he claims that the loan was a product of fraud and forgery and the matter is under investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.

Early last year, the controversial senator was in a feud with his ex-wife Marianne Kitany that saw him chase her out of his Runda home as they awaited the divorce procedures to be completed, the high court issues papers stopping the senator from selling the property they co-owned with Kitany.
