Why Always Ruto? DP’s Name Pop’s Up in the Mega Dams Scandal

The Plot continues to thicken in the Mega dams scandal that has rocked the nation as detectives continue with their investigations to help bring all curlplits to book.

One of the suspects in the scandal is one Ken Osinde, an aide to Deputy President William Ruto.

Osinde is accused of gaining from the proceeds of the illegal tendering process of the construction of the Kimwarer Dam in Elgeyo Marakwet. The entire was to cost 21 Billion Shillings.

The DCI is on Ken Osinde’s trail after a company he is associated with is suspected to have played a role in the multi-billion tenders for construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams in Elgeyo Marakwet.

He is listed as a director of Sanlam Company, which is part of the 107 whose directors have been summoned to record statements with the police.

Detectives are probing why the firm was paid Sh47 million by Italian firm CMC di Ravenna – which is said to have pocketed billions of taxpayers’ cash for work not done.

The contracts in question were awarded by the Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA).

Three Cabinet Secretaries including Treasury’s Henry Rotich have already recorded statements over the issue.
