US President Donald Trump and North Korea Supreme leader Kim Jong un arrived at the Metropole Hotel Hanoi Vietnam where they are due to address a myriad of issues, among them the North Korea nuclear program.

The US president is hoping to push the North Korean leader into starting the process of denuclearisation as they meet in Vietnam.

When they met on Wednesday Mr Trump said “I thought the first summit was a great success and I think this one hopefully will be equal or greater than the first.

“And we’ve made a lot of progress and I think the biggest progress was our relationship, which is really a good one.”

“And as I’ve said many times – and I say it to the press, I say it to anyone that wants to listen – I think your country has tremendous economic potential, unbelievable, unlimited,” he added.

“And I think that you will have a tremendous future with your country and I look forward to watching it happen and helping it to happen.”

On the other hand, Mr Kim said: “I truly believe that in those 261 days [since we last met] a lot of our painstaking efforts were necessary and a lot of patience was needed.

“But here we are today sitting next to each other and that gives us hope that we will be successful with time.”
