Reformed Kiambu Alcoholics Get sh 100 million from Waititu

Being a drunkard is now one of the quickest way to become a millionaire in Kenya, thanks to Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu.

Waititu may be criticized for his efforts to reform drunkards but maybe he understands that it is easy to lead a sober group of people.

The governor presided over the ‘Kaa Sober’ initiative graduation ceremony where more than 5000 former alcoholics passed aout at the Ndumberi grounds.

During the ceremony, the governor handed out Ksh101 million to the graduands indicating that the funds were meant to empower the reformed individuals with enough capital to kick-start various business ventures.

“They are now reformed people and ready to do various jobs. We decided not to buy them any equipment but instead give them money to start businesses of their choice,” Waititu divulged.

Beneficiaries of the initiative received Ksh20,000 each from the county government.

Now I know that Waititu will be criticized by various politicians for this act but what would he have done?

Most reformed drug addicts go back to abusing drugs because of lack of something to do. The governor has just ensured that does not happen.

And Central Kenya, especially Kiambu is one of the regions that has been adversely affected by alcoholism. At least women in that region will now be able to have babies.

Waititu tano tena!
