Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has to decide whether to select Kepa Arrizabalaga following the Spaniard’s actions in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper made headlines when he refused to be substituted despite suffering from cramp during extra time against Manchester City.

Kepa’s actions left Sarri fuming on the touchline, with reserve goalkeeper and penalty-saving expert Willy Caballero primed and ready to come on.

Kepa – who is the most expensive stopper in the world after his £70million move from Athletic Bilbao last summer – overruled his manager but couldn’t be the hero in the shoot-out, saving just once as City won 4-3.

The controversial incident has sparked a huge debate over Kepa’s actions and Sarri’s future at Stamford Bridge, with the Italian already under huge pressure to improve results.

Both Kepa and Sarri have since said the unsightly scenes were the result of a “misunderstanding”, although the goalkeeper has now been fined a week’s wages for his insubordination.

His participation against Tottenham on Wednesday is now in doubt, with Sarri potentially set to field Caballero after his humiliating afternoon at Wembley.

Cesar Azpilicueta has been criticised for his lack of leadership during the clash between Kepa and Sarri, although the Spaniard is unlikely to lose his place for the clash with Spurs.

The rest of the back four should be unchanged with Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz at centre-back while Emerson Palmieri appears to have moved ahead of Marcos Alonso in the pecking order.

Jorginho and N’Golo Kante will continue in midfield with the duo expected to be joined by one of Mateo Kovacic, Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Gonzalo Higuain was left on the bench against City but is expected to start in attack with Eden Hazard moving to the left while Callum Hudson-Odoi is likely to be overlook in favour of either Pedro or Willian.

Davide Zappacosta (ill), Gary Cahill (back) and Danny Drinkwater (Achilles) are all sidelined but were not expected to feature anyway.
