‘Apple set to launch sleep tracking to future Apple watch’

The Apple Watch currently is currently capable of tracking the user’s sleep through apps such as Sleep Cycle which can monitor how much sleep you’re getting based on your movements. However according to a report from Bloomberg, Apple could be looking to introduce their own sleep tracking to future Apple Watch devices.

The report purports that Apple has actually been testing out the feature in secret at various secret sites at its Cupertino campus, but despite it already in testing, we shouldn’t expect to see it anytime soon. This is because according to the report, if all goes well, Apple will only introduce it into the Apple Watch in 2020, so it is highly unlike that we will be seeing it this year.

It is unclear as to how different this sleep tracking feature is compared to some of the other options we’ve seen in the past, but knowing Apple they probably will add some twist to make it truly their own. Apple had previously acquired sleep tracking company Beddit back in 2017.

They haven’t really done much with their acquisition since, besides continuing to sell Beddit’s sleep monitoring device, but perhaps this integration in the Apple Watch could be how the Apple plans on making full use of its acquisition.
