Football Transfer Tavern’s Andre Huisamen believes an end to Arsenal’s defensive woes will certainly bring Champions League football back to the Emirates.
When asked what the team’s current problem is, almost every Arsenal fan will say that a lack of creativity hinders the team in more ways than one. Bringing Ozil or at least Ramsey into the starting XI solves this problem, at least to some extent.
But what can we do about the defence? This weekend we recorded only our fifth clean sheet in the Premier League. Defensive calamities have been prevalent and injuries have taken their toll. But as Andre Huisamen writes, there is one bright hope in all of this. And that is Sokratis.

“Sokratis has been as solid as a rock for Emery this season and has probably been the only defender who’s brought a sense of calmness to the team during his performances on the field.”
The Greek defender has been decent almost all season, despite being partnered up with 3 different centre-backs and playing in both 3 and 4-man defences.
He is 30 years old which means he won’t be here for the long run but now, he is the player around whom we need to organize and build the defence.
