By the looks of some of the parcels and boxes being carried into Meghan Markle’s baby shower, her friends well and truly spoiled her.
The pregnant Duchess spent five days in New York with her closest and most trusted pals as she prepares to welcome her first child in the next few weeks.
During her visit she was treated to a luxurious baby shower at The Mark hotel, where she joined pals for flower arranging, sweet treats and a good old catch up.
Serena Williams, Amal Clooney and Abigail Spencer were among the stars who attended the bash, and they all arrived carrying exciting looking presents.
But one of Meghan’s pals who attended the baby shower revealed she didn’t open any of the presents during the celebration, and the reason why is very sweet. During an interview on CBS This Morning, Gayle King was asked what she bought the Duchess.
She replied: “If I told you I would have to kill you because she didn’t open any of the gifts because she wants to do that when her and Prince Harry are back together.
“So I really don’t know what everybody got her. “I got something I think is very nice.”She’s a very private person I think she should decide what she wants to say about this.”
But she did reveal that the group spent the afternoon flower arranging before donating the flowers to charity.
She said: “I hope she won’t mind me sharing this, because I’ve never seen anything like this at a baby shower.
“They did flower decorations, they had flower arranging, they brought in somebody to explain how to arrange flowers. We all each made an individual vase and then Meghan got in touch with an organisation I’ve never heard of, Repeat Roses, and all of those were donated to different charities.
“I thought that was a very sweet thing, it just speaks to who she is, she’s very kind, she’s very generous and a really, really sweet person.”
She added: “It was a very small, private affair and just a very special time for her.
