Leicester City sacked their manager Claude Puel on Sunday following a run of five defeats in six games.
The Foxes have slid to 12th in the Premier League and are just eight points clear of the relegation places.
An alarming run of form has forced the club’s hierarchy into drastic action and it now remains to be seen who will take charge.
The East Midlands-based outfit face Brighton and Hove Albion at the King Power Stadium this evening.
It will be interesting to see just how Leicester perform now that Puel has fallen on his sword.
One man who could return to his best is Jamie Vardy, who has looked dejected under the management of the Frenchman.
In October the Telegraph reported that Vardy was said to be furious after Puel had dropped him for a game against West Ham.
Earlier this month the now former boss rejected claims of a bust-up, according to the Daily Mail, but something clearly hasn’t been right.
The 32-year-old has bagged just eight goals this season and the striker’s morale has looked low.
Having scored 63 goals for the Foxes during the last three seasons the current campaign has been miserable by Vardy’s standards.
Tonight’s game will be intriguing with regards to the proven goalscorer.
Vardy will be keen to throw the shackles off and rediscover the golden touch that has so often deserted him this season.
The dismissal of Puel could be the catalyst for Vardy to revive his scoring touch and fire Leicester back into the higher echelons of the division.
