Klopp ‘thanks god’ as he gives Lovren, Keita fitness update

Liverpool will see if Naby Keita can recover from a bout of illness before their clash against Watford on Wednesday night.

The Reds are one point clear at the top of the Premier League from closest rivals Manchester City with 11 matches left of the season.

Keita missed training on Monday with illness but Klopp has revealed that he should join in on Tuesday’s session at Melwood.

“Naby was ill yesterday, unfortunately, but I’ve heard now, I got a message, that he is back for today,” Klopp told reporters on Tuesday. “We have to see how he is.”

Dejan Lovren, meanwhile, won’t be available to face the Hornets at Anfield but his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury is coming along nicely.

“[Dejan is] getting closer; they are all getting closer, thank God – the injuries don’t get more serious in our rehab.

“But no, not for tomorrow – nobody else coming back.”
