Kikuyu elders from Kirinyaga County where a tree fell have cautioned locals not to touch the tree before a cleansing service is conducted.
They should not use the tree for firewood or any other work. Once the sacred tree falls, it is supposed to remain as it is until some rituals are done by elders without blemish

Mwangi also said that they will now have to conduct a cleansing service to appease spirits which might have been angry and led to the falling of the sacred tree
