According to the Mirror, Marcus Rashford is set to be handed a new long termcontract. The media outlet claim the board ‘have made a breakthrough’ in negotiations with the 21-year-old to keep him at the club for the coming years.

The England international is ready to pen a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2025, the Mirror report. The source says executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is confident he will announce about Rashford’s new deal with the club within the next few weeks.

Marcus had doubts over his future at Old Trafford under Mourinho as he didn’t play regularly under the Portuguese. But Solskjaer’s arrival at the club has changed everything for the young star. He’s now an integral part of the first team and a regular starter under the Norwegian.

The Telegraph reported a few weeks ago that United were willing to reward attacker with a £150,000-a-week contract with bonuses to secure his future with the Red Devils. Rashford’s current deal expires in 2020 with a 1-year extension option.

Anthony Martial already extended his contract with the club. Under a new deal the Frenchman earns around £200,000 a week.
