For the first time Ruto Talks on Jubilee’s new plan to bring women on board

Last week, President Uhuru Kenyatta expressed his desire of having a first female president for this country.

His Deputy now says he was inspired by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s wish of seeing the country under the leadership of a female president.

Ruto has gone on to reveal his plan to achieve this.

He says he would consider selecting a female running in his 2022 presidential bid.

Ruto who spoke during the thanksgiving ceremony of Kericho Woman Representative Florence Bore, said women had demonstrated good leadership skills and it was high time the country considered giving them a chance at the helm of authority.

According to Standard Digital, the DP would be considering President Uhuru Kenyatta’s wish for the country to one day have a female president by bringing in a woman running mate in 2022 as a way of empowering and preparing the country for a female president.

The DP, however, challenged women in the country to come out boldly and compete for political seats with their male counterparts.

“Nothing is given on a silver plate. Women must work hard for the leadership of this great nation. We must therefore work to steer the country forward,” he said.
