First Fadhili Wilkins and Now Henry Waswa:Are Motivational Speakers the Most Dangerous Conmen in the Country?

It’s barely been a month since the Wilkins Fadhili expose that left Kenyans shocked beyond comprehension.

Yes, thousands of ambitious Kenyans were unknowingly duped of their hard-earned cash by a silver-tongued devil, wannabe Congolese dandy that played the role of the brand advertiser perfectly.

Now, yet another ‘motivational speaker-cum-suspect conman has surfaced, and his name is Henry Waswa.

Indeed, the 28-year-old is currently being investigated by the police regarding his role in mimicking Uhuru Kenyatta to finesse Kenyans of the Indian Community their vast wealth and riches.

Which begs the question; why are motivational speakers the most successful conmen? Here are some credible hypotheses of an issue that might be spiraling out of control in our country.

The Need to Believe

Unfortunately, the unbearable conditions of poverty is what is forcing most Kenyans to fall prey to the smooth-tongued conman who will rob them blind without lifting a finger.
Poverty is the illusion that many Kenyans need to snap out of. Unfortunately, that can only be done by credible economic development.

The Desire to Change Overnight

One cannot have an oak tree without the acorn. Which refutes the belief that to make it, you have to climb the shortest ladder to success in a short period of time.

This has created a man eat man culture, which enables a conman to thrive effortlessly.

Honest money requires time and patience. But the fruits are much more rewarding!
