Boyfriend suspected of torching down girlfriend, burns four women

Following relationship drama, a man in Narok is suspected to have burned down a house where the girlfriend was being sheltered at night, causing harm to three other women.

Winnie Chepkorir, claimed her boyfriend had threatened to harm her if she refused to go back to his place.

“I had been living with him for eight months but last week we differed and I fled his house at Suswa trading centre. He has been pursuing me but I told him that I will never get back to him, ” Chepkorir stated.

This was then followed by the burning down of her friend’s house where she had gone to seek shelter.

Chepkorir was in the house with Monica Nyambura (38), Diana Chepkemboi (32) and Nancy Chepkemboi (32) who were all rushed to hospital by their neighbours after the incident.

Speaking from Cottage Hospital on Monday, the women indicated that petrol was poured under the door and ignited at 2am.

“I suspect he could be behind the incident,” Chepkorir remarked.

Nancy had invited Chepkorir to live with them after learning her boyfriend had threatened to revenge.

They had also reported the matter at Suswa police station where a policeman advised Chepkorir to leave the town.

Narok North OCPD Joseph Kisombe stated police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who could face arson and attempted murder charges.
