After Claude Puel exit, is Leicester City ready to take Former Liverpool Manager, Bredan Rodgers?

Leicester City are currently out of their performance owing to their recent play and position in the Premier league are hinted to want Brendan Rodgers as their new manager this season and are set to make their move in the next few days.

Rodgers is the number one target after the dismissal of Claude Puel and Leicester are ready to test Celtic by offering the former Liverpool manager the chance to take over before the end of this campaign. 

The 46-year-old is on course to win his third treble with Celtic and it seems inevitable that he will be leaving the Glasgow giants in the summer.

But Leicester want Rodgers to start as soon as possible and an official move could follow after the home game against Brighton on Tuesday night.

A deal to sign Rodgers at this stage of the season could cost Leicester up to £7.5million,media reports understands, though a compromise could be reached. 

Puel issued a statement on Monday, following dismissal on Sturdy night after the 4-1 thrashing by Crystal Palace.

It read: “I would like to thank everyone that I worked with at Leicester City Football Club. It was a privilege to work with the players, the staff and the management. “I would also like to thank the fans for their fantastic support as well as their understanding as the team developed. 

“I really appreciate the willingness to learn and work ethic of all of the players and I have no doubt that they will all have bright futures. “It was my honour to work for the late and much loved Khun Vichai, who gave me the fantastic opportunity to manage his club and share some great moments with him. 

“My mission at Leicester City Football Club ends here but I will continue to follow the performances of the team and wish the club all the best for the future.”
