Soweto Fire victims plead with Governor Sonko to Send help

Soweto Fire victims have today pleaded with Governor Mike Sonko to send help.

This comes after the Saturday night fire that burned down seven houses leaving the families out in the cold.

Ghetto Radio reports that the victims say they have nothing left and even the kids could not report to school on Monday because their uniforms and books had been all been burned.

“The fire started in the middle of the night and at the time it was just two houses. We were unable to put it out and in the end seven houses were but with everything in them fortunately no one was burned. We’ve been stranded from Saturday with no help, we have babies staying out in the cold and children who are unable to go to school because all their school books and uniforms were burned in the fire.” Said one of the victims

This evening, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino distributed mattresses and blankets to the victims whose houses were razed down by fire at Soweto in Embakasi East constituency .

Vocal residents however called out for more help saying that they are hoping that Governor Mike Sonko will also stretch out his hand to help them.
