Serikali Saidia… Soweto Residents appeal for help after fire leaves them homeless

Victims of a fire that gutted down homes in Soweto, Lower Savanna ward in Embakasi East are now appealing for help.

The Saturday night fire burned down seven houses leaving the families out in the cold.

Speaking to local media, the victims say they have nothing left and even the kids could not report to school on Monday because their uniforms and books had been all been burned.

“The fire started in the middle of the night and at the time it was just two houses. We were unable to put it out and in the end seven houses were but with everything in them fortunately no one was burned. We’ve been stranded from Saturday with no help, we have babies staying out in the cold and children who are unable to go to school because all their school books and uniforms were burned in the fire.” Said one of the victims
