Ole Gunnar Talks Rashford, Lingard And Herrera Injuries After Liverpool Draw

Manchester United missed out on the chance to dent Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes on Sunday afternoon.

Solskjaer’s side were hit by a series of injuries both before and after the showdown at Old Trafford.

Manchester United saw Nemanja Matic replaced by Scott McTominay before Lingard, Herrera and Juan Mata all limped off for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the first half.

Rashford also played on, despite being injured himself.

And, regarding the England international, Solskjaer said: “If he plays [against Crystal Palace on Wednesday], I’ll be maybe surprised.”

And, regarding the other players, the 45-year-old added: “No idea at the moment.

“We’ve got two days of recovery.

“I’ve never seen the like of this before, three hamstrings in the first half.

“Rashy [Rashford] obviously was kicked, he did his ankle straight away, we should have taken him off as well, but we didn’t did we?

“We played with ten and a half, but the fans made up for it and Rashy’s attitude made up for it.

“He worked the line well, we had to put it through the middle because we couldn’t risk coming down the sides, it was a difficult game in that respect.”

Solskjaer also hinted that he could look to United’s academy for their match against Palace.

“We’ve got some good kids coming through, so we’ll have 11 players on the pitch on Wednesday night!” he said.

“And luckily, we’ve got two days recovery.”

Palace are yet to beat United since returning to the Premier League in 2013.

And last year’s game at Selhurst Park was an absolute cracker.

The Red Devils found themselves 2-0 down after goals from Andros Townsend and Patrick van Aanholt.

But Chris Smalling, Romelu Lukaku and Matic all scored to secure a stunning comeback win.
