Lost depressed patient left in Nairobi found in Mombasa Coast General

Ms Margaret Kilelu was on Monday found at the Coast Provincial General Hospital (CPGH) Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

This is after being reported missing since last week Thursday, from Tena Estate in Nairobi.

Her family said that she had been hospitalised at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

with a depression-related illness.

It is reported that a Good Samaritan found her near a petrol station in Bamburi and reported the incident to the Kadzandani Police Station.

How she managed to travel from Nairobi to Mombasa is still a puzzle to her family.

According to Coast General Hospital chief administrator Iqbal Khandwala, preliminary assessment revealed that there might be infection in her blood which the patient is being treated for.

“She will need to go for toxicology assessment to find out if she was intoxicated or poisoned. Currently, her condition is improving but she has not been able to speak,” said Dr Khandwala.

Ms Kilelu is a nurse with Amref-Kenya by profession.
