Over Sh10 billion is feared to have been looted from the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) in untrue claims and payouts.
Sources said the figure had been hailed as false and was about 20 per cent of about Sh50 billion paid to NHIF by Treasury as capitation premiums for covers for government employees, National Youth Service, Kenya Police Service and Kenya Prisons Service since 2013.tient doled out to them.
The sleuths are concentrating on reports that some rebel NHIF authorities may have conspired with healthcare providers to produce false doctor’s visit expenses for false patients who pretended to have sought for treatment.
