‘Dirty trousers’ murder

Murder cases have been on the rise in the recent past over ‘petty’ issues.

A 16-year-old pupil was cabbed on Sunday for allegedly killing his 18-year-old brother after a fight over a pair of trousers.

A fight sprang between between the two after the suspect wore a pair of trousers belonging to his elder brother which ended tragically when the victim, Charles Omondi was stabbed with a kitchen knife in his stomach.

Reports reveal that the suspect wore a clean pair of trousers belonging to Omondi and refused to clean it after, an issue that angered the deceased.

Omondi was rushed to Rangwe sub-county Hospital and later referred to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital in Kisumu where he succumbed while receiving treatment.

According to the area Chief Peter Otieno said villagers marched the boy to the police station and he will be charged.

“The incident angered the villagers who frog-matched the suspect to Rangwe police station where he is still being held awaiting to be arraigned before court,” Otieno said.
