Aquaman’s leading man, Jason Momoa wore an extra-special suit to the 2019 Oscars.
In an interview with ABC, the 39-year-old actor’s wife Lisa Bonet revealed that not only were both their outfits a tribute to the late Karl Lagerfeld, but the “Aquaman” star’s baby pink velvet tuxedo was actually custom-made by the legendary designer, who died last Tuesday at the age of 85.
“We have the honor of wearing Karl Lagerfeld, he designed Jason’s tux personally for him,” Bonet explained during the channel’s red carpet pre-show. “And this is from his last couture collection from Fendi,” she added, gesturing to her own pink tea-length dress featuring sequins and floral embellishment.
Momoa completed his ensemble with an accessory also designed by the former Chanel creative director: a matching pink velvet scrunchie, which he wore around his wrist.
