57 couples walk down the isle in a ‘grand’ wedding in Mbeere

Mass Wedding

Mbeere residents in Embu County on Saturday witnessed a rare spectacle when 57 couples celebrated their mass wedding.

Bishop Paul Kariuki, who presided over the ceremony, stated that it was the first time it had happened in the region.

One of the couples interviewed by Daily Activewas excited that they were finally married after two months of planning.

Another bride commented that it took the hand of God to make the day a success.

A witness who had attended the wedding stated that it was an important occasion because it brought together members of different communities.

Some of the couples were getting married after having been together for years and served as an inspiration to young men and women on the proper way to settle down.

In January, a couple surprised Kenyans by conducting their wedding ceremony inside a maternity ward at Thika Level 5 hospital.

The bride had been admitted to hospital as they were preparing to wed but they decided to go ahead with their plans.
