Trevor Noah used his moment on stage at the Oscars to take a dig at Mel Gibson.

The “Daily Show” host was introducing “Black Panther” as a Best Picture nominee when he took his shot at the controversial actor.

Talking about the popularity of the Marvel blockbuster, Noah said, “Even backstage, Mel Gibson came up to me like, ‘Wakanda forever.’ He said another word after that, but the Wakanda part was nice.”

The joke was an allusion to a leaked voicemail that Gibson left on the answering machine of ex Oksana Grigorieva in 2010, in which he allegedly made several sexist and racist comments. The message was left just four years after Gibson went on an anti-Semitic rant during a DUI arrest in California.

Despite the initial fallout from both incidents, Gibson seems to have been forgiven by the Academy. His 2016 film “Hacksaw Ridge” won two Oscars and was nominated for four others including Best Picture and Best Director.
