This is the 17th time Los Angeles-based marketing agency Distinctive Assets has put together this unofficial Oscars swag bag. And in spite of the already settled lawsuit for trademark infringement in 2016, the gift bag remains one of the more exciting celebrations around the year’s biggest awards show.
What distinguishes the 2019 gift bag from previous years is a broad selection of cannabis products. Obviously, this “is tied to the legalization of cannabis in California.” said Lash Fary, Founder of Distinctive Assets.
In the name of etiquette, the organizers refused to share the bag’s exact value, but added that it’s in the six-figure range. After all, this is more about applauding talents with “fun and festive” gifts than “boast[ing] an impressive value,” noted Fary.
